ATG Release 1.44.608.3

Post by dthempel » Thu May 02, 2019 7:21 pm

What's new in release 1.44.608.3

New features and improvements:

Rerouting has been improved to better move the rider forward to rejoin their route
The map now can be configured to always be oriented northward. Along with this, the compass was returned to the map view

Bug Fixes:
The management of the creation of accounts and logging in on Karoo is expanded to allow additional characters, and the messages displayed for improper characters when present is accurate
The syncing of accounts and making routes available with turn-by-turn instructions has been improved. This removes false negatives where routes were causing a “breadcrumb only” navigation warning when full TbT instructions were in-fact available
Using the hardware buttons to zoom in on zoomable fields no longer moves in and out by two increments instead of one
An error was corrected where a user could be notified that they needed to logon to Karoo but when navigating to settings->Hammerhead Account, it appeared that the user was already logged on
The order of pages displayed when swiping the screen was backward compared to the order defined in the pages application. This has been fixed.

Just posted this on the ATG forum as a quick debrief of my weekend event and the Karoo's good performance.

-----
Not sure how anyone can keep track of this thread with so many responses, but I'll chime in here with some good news and not be 100% curmudgeonly on these forums.

Used the Karoo for a 75+ mile road/gravel/dirt event in upstate NY this past weekend. Pleased (and surprised) to report a very good experience. I started my watch as I was concerned about the Karoo's battery life, but it was around 10%/hour for me. I took around 4:50 to complete the event with 5400ft of climbing and a moving time of around 4:40 when factoring in 2 quick refuel stops. More than 50% battery left at the end. TbT was excellent for these unfamiliar and dirt roads and the device worked well. My only complaint was that this was the first time I experienced an issue with the Karoo "anti reflective" screen. The sun angle was "just so" that I finally had to reach down out of frustration and pull up on the mount. Thankfully, in my mentally weakened state, I didn't rip it off the mount but was able to angle it upwards about 10* and could read the unit again. Hadn't even noticed that particular angle or issue before, but that's a nit-pick.

If only we could keep improving on performances like that and add in features (and apps) on a more rapid basis...

Sweet!!

My Karoo lost sensors and then froze/crashed hard about seven hours into a 200k on Sunday. D'oh.

Hoping it gets to the point where it can do 90 hours without losing sensors or crashing! I have high expectations!!

That's this new "high intensity workout" trend, innit? Hope you have a bid of break pad left after that one!
