Controls are now presented on the workout screen, allowing a rider to move forward to the next interval or back to the beginning of the current segment

Added support for workouts from TrainingPeaks that are driven by speed targets or heart rate threshold

Added controls that enable a rider to modify workout intensity (up/down) when doing a workout managed by a smart trainer

Fixed an issue causing failed imports of TrainingPeaks workouts that include a step with repeat count of one

Dashboard POIs now retain the user’s name and description field data if they click away from the edit dialog after entering text in one of those fields

Karoo now deletes offline map and navigation data for regions that have been removed in Settings. Previously these regions were preserved on Karoo and continued to take up storage space

Old Software Version - 1.141.858.3

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.141.858.3
Release Date July 16, 2020

Feature Introductions:

Karoo’s new Home screen makes going for a ride easier and simpler. Start a ride in only two taps (or button clicks) after turning on the device - no more tapping through menus and confirmations. Routes and Workouts can be added to your ride from the Routes/Workouts menus on the homescreen, or from their respective data pages

We updated the animation for turning on the device to match the new Home screen, and in doing so shortened the boot-up time by 4 seconds

An update to the pre-ride status bars informs you if your sensors are connected, allowing you to fix any issues before you start riding

The in-ride status bar has been updated. It is not shown in apps other than the ride application. Features include:
- Battery level indicator
- Ride Time
- Pause indicator

Redesigned page layouts for the Map page, the Workout page, and Data pages

More data page templates have been added
- A full-height graphic and two side-by-side data fields layout
- We’ve added new data templates that display nine and ten data fields
- Data pages supporting multiple graphical fields have been added. For example, both a HR zone and a Power zone field can be placed on a single page together

You can now add graphical data fields to your Map page, giving you more options for setting up your in-ride experience how you want it
- This introduces more graphical field options, including same-screen map and elevation graph, direct from user requests

Data field appearance has been optimized for clarity, allowing you to see more of the information that matters to you at a glance
- Data field labels have been made more readable, while also saving more space for data
- Right-justification allows the data to populate predictably, which allowed us to design for it to maximize the use of Karoo’s screen. This was all in service of giving users more of what they want: clearly visible data.
- Unavailable data displays as a grayed-out 000, making it easier to identify when data is not being tracked while riding, and allowing for a more consistent pre-ride experience

You can now add or edit a route from the Map page
- It now takes fewer steps to add or edit a route when in-ride or on the ride screen
- This is one step in our overall effort to streamline the experience from device launch to ride. Further changes to come!

You can now add or edit workout from Workout page
- It now takes fewer steps to add a workout to your ride, and now you won’t be prompted to add one if you don’t plan to use one
- You can now pause and resume your workout using the hardware buttons
- This is another step in our overall effort to streamline the experience from device launch to ride. Further changes to come!

We simplified the in-ride buttons to make every action faster. Starting, pausing, and resuming are all one button tap. Our two-step Swipe Confirmation ensures you don’t accidentally end your ride, and saving the ride is simple and fast when you need it. Easily toggle through the most helpful zoom levels on Maps with a single click, and pause/resume Workouts just as easily
- Recording a lap has also changed - here’s how it works now

When you need to interact with the device, we are making it as easy as possible to do so without losing focus on the road by displaying on-screen hardware button icons.
- This addition makes key hardware functions tappable, which is especially useful during pre-ride and pause states
- This also allows us, in the near future, to create intuitive page-specific (zoom on Map, pause workout on Workout) button functions
- Button indicators don’t overlap data anymore

Further refinements were made to font size management on data fields to avoid side-by-side data fields having numbers running too close together

Based on rider feedback, we made the in-ride experience more focused on what matters: map and data
- Updated the screen layouts when turn-by-turn directions are not being used, in order to use the full height of the screen
- Riders can now disable the minimize button graphics that are displayed during rides. The larger graphics that shown initially are still present but quickly move off-screen in this mode that is set in a new settings menu

Improved navigation when riding on a route that leaves known roads. The Karoo will use banner instructions to guide you to and through an unknown road

Updated the method used to establish elevation profile during rides

The current elevation view is now more legible so that you can easily tell how your climb is going

Redesigned ride summary screen, which is now more accessible for easily viewing relevant ride data, updating the ride title and description, and uploading to your favorite third party services

The activity list has received a design refresh in line with the rest of the Karoo experience. Now you can easily and clearly review recent rides and relevant data in a way that is visually consistent with the rest of the Karoo

A periodic map data update has been provided. Karoo owners have the option to download the update, which is recommended
- Turks and Caicos Islands and Cayman Islands are now available
- Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador Guyana, French Guiana and Falkland Islands are now available
- Updated map and navigation data to the most recent worldwide data

Changed “Remind Me” to “Ignore” on Software Update Notifications. If you tap Ignore, we won’t notify you again until the next release. If you wish to update at your leisure, you can choose to download the latest software from the Software Updates Settings

Bug Fixes:

Updated navigation engine improvements allow additional routes to produce TbT directions

A chevron pattern is again shown during an active workout along with a red background when target effort level is not met

Fixed an issue where Strava Live Segments with little elevation deviation could fail to fail to display the elevation line and competitors when in-ride

Fixed a problem where editing a page profile with duplicate data fields could cause the wrong cell to be updated with the newly selected field type

Resolved two repeating sound problems that could happen with Bluetooth audio
- On Strava Live Segment completion
- For turn by turn directions if turn by turn was turned off in settings

Fixed the presence of duplicate average heart rate fields that were shown in the ride summary view

Fixed a bug where, if a rider selected a route using the "Plan Ride" menu selection, the route would not be added to the launcher

Improved login times on Karoo for accounts with large amounts of data

Re-aligned the on-screen button graphics to align with the physical hardware buttons

Fixed an issue in which the Karoo could fail after a long period of attempting to find a route when riding through regions where map data was not offlined

Made fixes to address a rare bug causing inaccurate jumps in distance traveled during a ride when using a speed sensor

Fixed the color of the back button on the Activities Detail Page screen

Repeated route edits no longer generate an Out of Memory error

Resolved an issue in which selecting a new route after ending the previous ride would cause the ride app to hang

Fix for a rare bug causing certain routes imported from .fit files to crash the ride application

Resolved an issue causing ANT+ shifter profile battery level to not be displayed on its data field

Routing now avoids using service roads to cut corners

Unlocking of the map screen has been fixed

The GPS status is now shown during rides

Fix to German map downloads. The state of Saarland no longer downloads when you want to download Bayern

Improvements have been made to TBT audio cues, which could be repeated if the underlying map data contained repetitive information

U-turns now occur where they should

The bike used during a ride will no longer display as Unclassified at the end of a ride, and will now save the bike you selected when starting the ride

Fixed a rare issue that sometimes caused the Distance to Destination data field to incorrectly show the distance traveled added to the distance remaining when rerouting

Fixed a bug causing the Routes menu to occasionally not display any routes

Fixed an issue causing the status bar to display zero in its Ride Time field when paused and immediately after pause

Adjusted 3-row data pages to be equally distributed across the three fields.

Fixed a bug where selecting a route after a workout in the Karoo ride planning screen caused the route to be cleared

Old Software Version - 1.145.875.3

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.145.875.3
Release Date August 13, 2020

Feature Introductions:

We’ve made pairing and managing sensors easier and more consistent with our visual design

- Now, when pairing new sensors, the rider selects whether they are looking for ANT+, Bluetooth, or Di2. This helps Karoo find the sensor more quickly and presents the rider with a more focused list of discovered sensors
- Additionally, the same sensor is not shown twice in the list for dual-band sensors, as was previously the case
- We have also updated the layout of the details page for each sensor

We’ve modestly improved battery life, especially when riding with a route, by tweaking how Karoo manages map pages in your profiles

Bug Fixes:

We’ve made several significant improvements to sensor stability, as well
- Previously sensors could become disconnected after an extended pause and not reconnect. We’ve fixed that
- Renaming of sensors is now reliable, even when named before a sensor has finished connecting
- Sensor details could sometimes be forgotten by the Karoo, but we’ve now fixed this

Old Software Version - 1.149.880.3

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.149.880.3
Release Date August 27, 2020

Feature Introductions:

You can now pair multiple sensors at one time. When pairing sensors, select all of the sensors that you want to add, then confirm them all in one tap. Choose up to 14 ANT+ sensors, any number of BLE sensors, or multiple Di2 systems at a time.

Based on positive feedback, we’ve improved the visibility and performance of the Paused and Auto-Paused indicators. Now you’ll have confidence your ride is paused thanks to a bold, yellow status bar and a flashing ride time, as opposed to the more subtle fade in/out of the last couple releases. This change has improved the battery drain rate during Pause, which some riders had noticed needed a fix.

Rendering improvements have helped extend battery for profiles that include a Map or Upcoming Elevation.

Bug Fixes:

The Location Services icon in the settings application has been fixed to be consistent with the other icons.

Old Software Version - 1.151.894.3

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.151.894.3
Release Date 10 September, 2020

Feature Introductions:

By adding an Edit Layout button to each page and adding a “pencil” to the Edit Box around each data field when editing a profile, we’ve made it clearer and easier to edit your profiles.

Karoo now makes it easier to download offline map regions so you never get caught with a blank map. If you’re missing the map region for your current location, Karoo will allow you to download the necessary maps quickly and easily from the Home screen.

We’ve made Karoo’s "Swipe to Confirm" slider more visible, especially when it appears on top of other data or text.

We’ve improved how Karoo shows where you’ve ridden so far in a ride (the grey line behind you), especially for curvy routes ridden slowly (e.g. twisting mountain bike trails).

Bug Fixes:

We resolved an issue where data fields could show “000” even when the same exact data was available on other pages.

Fixed a problem where swiping through overlapping Strava Live Segments would also swipe the data page at the same time. With this fix, the data pages and overlapping SLSs are swiped independently again.

Added additional logic when toggling the ANT+ sensor switch (or using the quick menu) to facilitate better the finding of ANT+ devices without needing to restart Karoo.

Old Software Version - 1.157.907.3

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.157.907.3
Release Date 24 September, 2020

Feature Introductions:

Introducing Battery Save Mode: when enabled, this new mode can nearly double your Karoo’s battery life, perfect for your longest rides. Your Karoo’s screen will turn off when it isn’t needed, and will wake up automatically to show you any important events: an upcoming turn, an approaching car (if you have a radar), a new workout interval, and more.

For those who ride with a radar, we’ve made the Car Approaching “lane” disappear when no cars are detected, so you can now enjoy the full width of your screen. Additionally, we’ve improved the Radar Mute so you can still see if cars are approaching even when the full lane isn’t popping over your data. Just tap the radar icon in the top left of the Status Bar to toggle between these two modes. These changes also alleviate the data field font size inconsistencies that our previous Radar design caused for some users.

We updated the Home screen to accommodate longer Profile names, making it easier to differentiate between your Profiles when you’re going for a ride.

We’re giving the Settings app a facelift as part of Karoo’s new designs. There are a handful of pages left to make it complete (and we’re working on those right now), but most of the app is now consistent with the rest of the device.

Bug Fixes:

We’ve simplified the navigation guidance given in the following scenarios: when you stay on a road that goes from unnamed to named (or vice versa), and when you continue in the same direction through an “offset” intersection (e.g. “left turn followed immediately by a right turn,” but you’re really just continuing on the same path)

Resolved an issue where data fields could stop showing data (would show “000”) even though the underlying data was still available. It seemed to happen frequently with elevation and temperature fields.

Fixed some edge cases around offline region management where an HX Navigation Service has stopped message could be presented.

Old Software Version - 1.159.913.3

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.159.913.3
Release Date 8 October, 2020

Feature Introductions:

DOWNLOAD OFFLINE REGIONS DIRECTLY
Now, you can download the offline regions you need for each route directly and easily from the Routes app. No more hunting through the offline regions settings!

KEEPING YOUR ACTIVITIES SAFE
We’ve made two changes to prevent accidentally deleting activities: we’ve removed the option to delete an activity from the post-ride summary, and we added a confirmation screen after swipe-to-delete from the Activities app (and the Profiles app, too).

A FEW COLOR OPTIMIZATIONS
To improve consistency between the color of the route lines on the map page and the corresponding colors of the TBT instructions, we’ve changed the primary navigation line (with chevrons) to yellow and the reroute line to red. This will also help differentiate reroute lines from water.

IMPROVEMENTS TO RADAR
We’ve made several more improvements to the integration of Radar devices.
- The Radar icon in the Status Bar now indicates if the Radar is muted, which is helpful when no car is approaching now that the “lane” disappears.
- We’ve reintroduced the ability to mute and unmute the Radar regardless of whether or not a car is present.
- The Radar now supports up to 8 cars when previously it only showed up to 4.

Bug Fixes:

Fixed an issue where audio alerts for Turn-By-Turn navigation were not being consistently played during a ride.

Fixed an issue where trying to orient the map North Up by pressing the compass was extremely slow to respond.

Resolved an issue where the Route Preview sometimes displayed in the wrong unit system (metric or imperial).

Fixed an issue where it was possible to have the always on TbT box collide with data fields.

Old Software Version - 1.166.931

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.166.931
Release Date 22 October, 2020

Feature Introductions:

ZERO AVERAGING
We’ve expanded and improved our options for averaging cadence and power. Now, in settings, you can choose whether or not to include zeros for power and cadence independently.

OFFLINE REGIONS
Your offline regions are now remembered with your Hammerhead account. No need to specify them again after a factory reset (or signing in to your Karoo 2 when it arrives).

SCREEN BRIGHTNESS
Karoo’s default screen brightness was raised to 45% to ensure that new riders begin with a brightness level that best shows off Karoo’s screen.

AUDIO ALERTS
We’ve made audio alerts configurable by category, available within Settings. For instance, you can now set Karoo to give you audio alerts for radar but not for navigation.

ONBOARDING FLOW
We added an additional page to the Karoo onboarding flow to provide additional information to new Karoo owners about how to pair sensors, create profiles, and more.

SORTING ROUTES
We improved the sorting feature for routes and rides to make finding the right route or previous ride more efficient. For example, if you decide to sort by Age, you’ll see the newest first instead of the oldest.

TBT
The default TBT setting for new users is now Always On. Of course, this won’t affect your experience unless you add a route, in which case it better shows off Karoo’s features.

PRE-POPULATED PROFILES
Karoo now comes pre-populated with a number of profiles to give new riders a better set of options to use Karoo out of the box. The “blank slate” for creating new profiles has also been simplified to make creating new profiles easier and faster.

DASHBOARD

We’ve changed Activities to Rides on Karoo to match Dashboard.

The dashboard onboarding flow was enhanced in the following ways:
- You can identify the map regions you want to have downloaded on Karoo, and they’ll begin downloading as soon you sign in on Karoo.
- You can connect to 3rd parties such as Strava and RWGPS so you’re ready to import routes and upload rides immediately.

A number of user experience improvements have been deployed including:
- Added an option to view routes in card or list views.
- Added an option to view Rides in card or list views
- Added direct access to our support team in the navigation bar, and removed the prior support bubble.
- Updated user account page including overall appearance and improvements to 3rd party account linking.

The list of routes now automatically updates when creating a new route. The user no longer has to refresh the page to view the new route.

We fixed an issue where a shared route link opened to a blank page if the person opening the link wasn’t logged into the dashboard.

Bug Fixes:

We’ve fixed an issue that could cause Karoo to set its time based on the incorrect timezone.

Two navigation issues have been fixed: Karoo sometimes announced “destination reached” at the start of a ride, and it sometimes gave incorrect instructions when rejoining the route.

We resolved an issue where installing an update could send users to the System Recovery screen.

We fixed a problem that prevented searching for an address on Karoo when connected to the internet.

We fixed an issue where auto-pause would cause the map to orient North-Up, instead of retaining the bearing you were previously on. This makes stopping at a turn and observing the needed maneuver clearer.

Old Software Version - 1.168.941.3

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.168.941.3
Release Date 5 November, 2020

Feature Introductions:

QUICK ACTION MENU

Introducing the Quick Action menu (press the Button C and Button D simultaneously) to enhance your ride experience.

You can now add or remove a route without pausing!
You can also lock/unlock the touchscreen.
Route to your home

NAVIGATION CUES

We’ve added two new navigation cues to give you more detailed information on your upcoming turns: end-of-road and quick-succession maneuvers. For end-of-road maneuvers, you’ll see a unique turn icon indicating that you’re turning when your current road dead-ends into the next. When you have to take two turns in quick succession, you’ll now see both maneuvers together ahead of time as a single turn cue.

IN-RIDE BANNERS

Now, Karoo will show a banner if you begin moving without beginning to record, so you’ll never miss a second of your ride. (Note: the banners only appear in-ride, not from Home or in other apps. Let us know if you’d like them outside of the ride!)

The banners for “Radar disconnected” (and other error messages) no longer require you to press the indicator to remove the notice, and they’ve also been restyled. (Note: these changes didn’t affect how likely these alerts are to appear)

BATTERY SAVE MODE

Battery Save Mode has been improved in the following ways: the screen timeout has been increased to 30 seconds; the screen will now turn on for pause, auto-pause, and resume; and the screen will now stay on for the full length of Strava Live Segments.

VISUAL OPTIMIZATION

The color used on the RADAR lane for high threat vehicle approaching has been changed to a brighter red.

Dashboard

- We’ve added Komoot support for auto-syncing routes. Connect your account in Linked Accounts, press the sync routes button on the Routes page, and we’ll import your 50 most recent Komoot routes.
- Our Dashboard now keeps track of where you’ve uploaded your rides. We’ve added a direct link from each ride straight to that same ride on any 3rd party services you upload it to.
- We added the ability to delete a ride from Dashboard.
- We improved the login screen to help new users and existing users equally. If you log out of Dashboard, you’ll go to the login screen, but if you’re new to Hammerhead, you’ll see the Create Account page.
- Fixed a number of issues that had been reported when using the Safari browser to view Dashboard.
- Fixed a bug that was preventing the opening of routes in list view.
- Fixed an issue with downloading a fit file from a ride where the date was missing.
- Resolved an issue in route builder, which sometimes indicated a failure when saving though the save actually succeeded.

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed an issue where wifi was not turned on after a ride in some cases.
- Fixed the ability to use gestures to zoom in and out in Route Preview.
- Fixed an issue where downloading regions did not resume if wifi was turned off and back on.
- Fixed an issue that was causing HX Navigation Service to stop for certain routes.

Old Software Version - 1.174.947.3

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.174.947.3
Release Date 19 November, 2020

Feature Introductions:

ROAD NAME

Now, you can see the road name for the upcoming turn at any point, not just as you approach it. Simply tap the Distance To Next Turn box at the bottom of the screen (requires “Always On” Turn By Turn settings). Additionally, if a road name is too long to show completely, just swipe up on the banner to see the full instruction.

ROUTE LINE

We’ve cased the route line in black, widened it, and further angled the chevrons to ensure it is clear against the map with any background, at any brightness, in direct sunlight.

WHEEL CIRCUMFERENCE

The algorithm for automatically determining wheel circumference with a speed sensor has been refined to recalculate the circumference less frequently.

SENSOR ALERTS

Karoo will now show “Battery Low” warnings for more ANT+ sensors than just radar.

TEXT MESSAGE [Karoo 2 only]

If a text message is too long to show completely, just swipe up on the banner to see more.

Bug Fixes:

- We’ve improved the fidelity with which Karoo records distance from speed sensors. This results in steadier accumulation of distance throughout the ride and therefore smoother speed graphs when uploaded to services such as Strava.
- Fixed a problem that was causing endurance mode to trigger out of memory errors on long rides.
- Fixed the issue that caused some Karoos to fill up with a very large number of default profiles. (Note: write in to our support team if you have experienced this and it’s still not been resolved, and we’ll get you up and running again quickly.)
- Fixed an issue that led to "Unknown partner komoot" appearing in your ride upload notifications if Komoot had been connected on Dashboard. We don’t currently support uploading to Komoot (but let us know if this would be valuable to you!).
- [Karoo 1 only] Fixed an issue where editing a route on Karoo led to a blank route preview once you stopped editing.
- [Karoo 2 only] We’ve fixed an issue that had been causing ANT+ Sensors to drop out periodically from Karoo 2.

Dashboard bug fixes:

- Fixed an issue where the imported routes didn’t correctly show their source icon/logo.
- Fixed an issue where Komoot imported routes all were given the same name, rather than the proper name from Komoot.

Old Software Version - 1.177.956.3

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.177.956.3
Release Date 3 December, 2020

Feature Introductions:

MAPS AND NAVIGATION

See a full cuesheet for your entire route, from any screen in-ride. Simply swipe up on any navigation cue to see all the remaining maneuvers till your destination. Remember, tapping on the Distance To Next Turn Box will bring up the next turn cue. This is available for rerouting and routing to a pin or POI, as well.

We released Version 1.3 maps and navigation information (you may have already noticed this!)

We restored the ability to download offline regions over a SIM cellular data plan. Note: this may incur charges based on your SIM data plan.

SENSORS

Sensor searching has been improved for faster pairing, connecting, and reconnecting to sensors. As part of these changes, Karoo will also stop looking for any additional sensors after 2 minutes of riding to save battery (you can manually override this and tell Karoo to continue searching if you need to).

STRAVA SEGMENTS

We’ve narrowed the path lines for Strava Live Segments, so they are less obstructing, especially when riding with a route. This is a visual change only and doesn’t affect segment matching or any other behavior of Strava Live Segments on Karoo.

IN-RIDE ALERTS

For improved legibility, we’ve increased the font size for top-of-screen Alert Banners such as Ride Not Recording or Karoo Battery Low.

PHONE PAIRING [Karoo 2 only]

By simplifying the possible connection states between a smartphone and Karoo 2, we’ve made it more likely that pairing a phone with Karoo 2 for notifications goes smoothly.

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed some long-standing bugs with sensors:
- Resolved issue with SRM power that were previously causing application crashes as a result of auto-calibrations.
- Using a BLE speed sensor no longer stops Karoo from reporting or recording cadence from other sensors
- Fixed an issue that caused Di2 hood buttons to progress Karoo 2 data screens in the direction opposite what one would expect.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the Key Button Icons and the Distance To Next Turn Box to disappear after using the App Switcher while in a ride.
- We corrected the label for Power Zones in the settings app.
- We’ve increased the maximum distance for Strava Live Segments by 5X. 50+ mile segments can now correctly display elevation and competitors.
- [Karoo 2 only] Fixed display of non-english map and turn-by-turn text for locals such as Greece, Thailand, Iraq, and Taiwan.
- [Karoo 2 only] Fixed an issue that caused non-audio devices to appear in the Bluetooth Audio pairing list.

Dashboard bug fixes:

- Fixed an issue where the imported routes didn’t correctly show their source icon/logo.
- Fixed an issue where Komoot imported routes all were given the same name, rather than the proper name from Komoot.

Old Software Version - 1.179.961

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.179.961
Release Date 17 December, 2020

MUTING TURN CUES

You can now mute Turn Cues in-ride if you need to suppress the Automatic cues for any reason. Simply swipe up on a Turn Cue, toggle the switch above the route cuesheet, and continue riding. (To unmute them, tap the Distance To Next Turn box, then swipe up. Turn Cues will unmute at the start of new rides.)

ROUTE TO START

"Route to Start" allows you, at any point in your ride, to be routed back to where you began your ride. Available from the quick actions menu. (Note: to simplify the quick actions menu, Route to Start is hidden if your start location is within 1km of your home address. Simply use Route to Home instead.)

SELECTING ROUTES

It is now possible to select routes from the Routes list entirely with hardware buttons, perfect for riding in harsh conditions.

RIDE NOT STARTED

The beeps indicating that a ride has not been started have been adjusted to avoid beeping when you’re not intending to start a ride (e.g. walking out the door with your bike before beginning to ride).

QUICK ACTIONS MENU

The quick actions menu now opens to the action you last selected. This should reduce the amount of scrolling through the quick action menu each time you open it (e.g. needing to unlock the touchscreen to do something, then lock it again to keep riding).

OFFLINE MAP STORAGE

Offline maps are now retained between logout and login cycles on Karoo. This prevents needing to re-download your regions if you have to log out and back in (e.g. if asked by our Support Team to do so during troubleshooting).

Bug Fixes:

- We’ve fixed an issue in which Karoo could sometimes get into a state where it couldn’t pair new sensors.
- We’ve fixed an issue in which Power Meter data would show “000” when coasting.
- We’ve fixed an issue that was causing the Shimano Di2 Shift Mode Switch to work unreliably
- We’ve fixed an issue in which the Account Logout button on Karoo was unresponsive.
- We’ve fixed an issue in which some Turn Cues wouldn’t clear until the next turn.
- We’ve fixed an issue in which ANT+ FE-C Trainers were not staying connected to Karoo
- [Karoo 2 only] We’ve made substantial improvements to the reliability of Phone Pairing and message delivery.

Android Companion App

As part of the Karoo 2 phone pairing improvements made in this release, we’ve updated the Android Companion App to improve the reliability of messages sent from paired Android phones to Karoo.

Dashboard

- For riders with accounts linked to TrainingPeaks: Rides on Dashboard are now directly hyper-linked to the same ride on TP. Simply click the TP logo on the ride.
- Fixed an issue where rides could not be sorted correctly by the provided sort mechanism.
- Fixed an issue where Dashboard could show a blank Routes screen if any routes had certain characters in them.

Old Software Version - 1.181.967

Post by Steve »

Karoo Software Build Version: 1.181.967
Release Date 14 January, 2021

TURN BY TURN DIRECTIONS

We’ve simplified and improved the settings for Turn By Turn Directions. Now, the Distance To Next Turn and the Automatic Turn Cues can be enabled or disabled independently. (Note: as part of these changes, the in-ride toggle for Muting/Unmuting Turn Cues will no longer reset after each ride.)

STRAVA LIVE SEGMENTS

Starred Strava Live Segments are now automatically synced to Karoo when you log in to your Hammerhead Account.

“RADAR DISCONNECTED” ALERTS

We’ve further improved the behavior of “radar disconnected” alerts to only show when a radar goes from Connected to Disconnected mid-ride. This will be especially welcomed by riders who have multiple radar devices or those who don’t always ride with their radar.

GATES ACROSS PATHS

We’ve improved how our routing algorithm handles gates across paths.

KAROO 1 BUTTONS

A handful of improvements were made to better-align the on-screen buttons to the physical button placement on Karoo 1.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed an issue where some Strava Live Segments did not clear when the rider left the segment.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the Upcoming Elevation graph to get out of sync with your actual progress along a route.
- Fixed an issue that was causing certain Turn Cues not to clear after returning to a route from being off-route
- Continued improvement to the reliability of Phone Notifications

Browser Extensions

The RouteGrab Chrome extension has been updated in the Chrome Web Store. Riders must install this update to use RouteGrab on Strava, Ride with GPS, or Komoot. RouteGrab has also been added to the Firefox Store.

Dashboard Software

- We’ve automated the importing of routes from connected accounts. Now, when you first connect to Strava, Ride with GPS, or Komoot, we will automatically and immediately sync your routes from those services.
- We’ve added Offline Maps to the Dashboard settings. Now you can manage on Dashboard which regions you want synced to Karoo.
- Dashboard now removes the "connect accounts" banner from the Routes page after you link at least one route-providing account.
- You can now import Ride with GPS Ambassador Routes by URL.
- Fixed a bug that was caused by trying to upload a ride to a connected service to which it had already been uploaded. Dashboard gave an unclear error message and then removed the link to the ride on that service.
- Polished up a number of issues on the Dashboard:
- Improved the appearance of long route names.
- Fixed how connected accounts in the sidebar menu would overlap Settings at certain browser dimensions.
- Added informative text to the error messages returned by linked services.
- Dashboard now supports an unlimited number of POIs (previously it was limited to 100).
- Fixed an issue where it was not possible to export a .gpx file for a route if the name contained slashes.
