Sensor List
Re: Sensor List
In my experience, TICKR's only activate with a little movement at first and then only come fully alive when in contact with skin on the straps and both straps are connected to the metal snaps/contacts on the unit. It literally has blue (for Bluetooth) and red (for heartrate) lights showing when it's working. I can "see" these through most regular weight jerseys, so it shouldn't be difficult to determine if the battery in the TICKR is working.
Re: Sensor List
Thanks for the info dthempel, all OK now. Paired to my Karoo very quickly after I moved from the hall way to my living room where my Karoo was charging, switched sensors, Ant+ was on click on add, done.

Re: Sensor List
You can add Scoshe Rhythm 24 HRM as working.
I've only connected it via ANT+ so I cannot verify if BTLE works.

Re: Sensor List
In my experience Powertap P1 pedals do not work properly on Bluetooth. They appear to pair with the pair of pedals but only receive power info from 1 pedal so you get 50% of the power reported.tempo36 wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 6:20 am
Powertap P1 pedals (dual sided) work sporadically. The Karoo seems to frequently, as far as I can tell, screw up the input from the right pedal. It will, at random, cut the reported power output in half and I have to do weird voodoo/black magic involving stopping/starting pedaling, disconnecting/reconnecting the Karoo, changing the strength of my pedal stroke rapidly, etc. Eventually it "remembers" there are two pedals (again, that's my guess) and my power output returns to normal for 1 minute...or 30....or 5...it's a shot in the dark.
If you pair using ANT+ then they work flawlessly.
Currently (as of June 21, 2018) you can not zero them at the beginning of a ride.

Re: Sensor List
FWIW my Karoo connects to both my Quarq DZero and my older style Power2Max (Gn 2, 2013 onwards) power meters.
Re: Sensor List
I got a CooSpo BK8 Speed & Cadence sensor working flawlessly. That's one of those super cheap Chinese devices, picked it up on AliExpress for $20 or so. Only tested ANT+; it does BTLE as well but as my only other sensor (Wahoo TIKR) supports ANT+, too, I didn't even bother to activate that on the Karoo.

Re: Sensor List
Anyone have any idea related to the compatibility of a Pioneer power meter with the Karoo?
I'm switching from a Quarq DFour to a Ultegra R8000 based Pioneer and just remembered that I've got the whole "Karoo compatibility" factor to deal with..and here I was thinking that I just had to deal with the headache of BB issues, switching from GXP standard to Shimano
Thanks!!

Re: Sensor List
Firstly, this might have been corrected at some point, but I use a Garmin GSC-10, and it works fine for me. I see there have been conflicting reports in the past, so I thought I would mention that. I think that the GSC-10 has issues with some ANT+ transceivers, though, as it doesn't work for me with Zwift via a Garmin ANT+ stick, so I think it's a bit finicky in general. But still, works fine with my Karoo.
I have a Watteam Powerbeat G3, power meter works fine (I'm using it in ANT+ mode to connect it to multiple devices at once)
I can also second that the Scosche Rhythm+ works just fine.

Powertap C1 chainrings work, display power and can calibrate.
Powertap Speed or Cadence Sensor - works perfectly in speed mode.

Hello fellow Karoousers,
I'm looking for a smartwatch, Polar Vantage, Garmin, TicWatch ... but anyone experience connecting it to the Karoo, like heartbeat and stuff? I don't want to wear a band. Any other functionality that you use in combination with the Karoo?
Thanks.

Re: Sensor List
To add some clarifications, as I've gone on, I've found I do get somewhat regular dropouts. I ran my Edge 810 for the first time in a while, and had no dropouts for power or cadence on the Edge.
Re: Sensor List
I did contact Hammerhead about the above described issue, and they basically said "You're not the only one with this problem...we're working on it."
Sounds like the next update is supposed to be a bunch of bug fixes, wondering if they're going to improve the ANT+ stack.

Re: Sensor List
For info I have managed to connect my smartwatch (Huawei Watch 2 Classic) as a heart rate monitor via bluetooth. It should be possible on all android based smart watches by going to the playstore and downloading 'Heart for Bluetooth'.
After running the app it advertises the watch as a HRM sensor so you can connect it to the karoo. It is quite power hungry so has a built in timer to stop the app and drop the connection after a preset time which you can adjust in the app.
It's not as accurate as my chest strap but it works fine for the commute, I use it a lot now

Re: Sensor List
Assioma UNO pedals, power and cadence: not working (powermeter shows only 50% power)
Re: Sensor List
The 4iiii powermeter does work! I am happy.
I connect it via Ant+ with the Karoo, as that’s my favourite protocol.
Besides all kind of Power values, it does show me my Cadence.
I was using a separate cadence sensor before, but I can sell that one now.
To be specific: it is the 4iiii Podiiiium Ultegra 6800 left side cranck Powermeter (rechargeble)
