Does the Garmin Vivoactive HR wristwatch work as a standalone HR monitor though? Because I would have thought that it's a self-contained fitness watch and syncs to other stuff via an app and/or wifi, with the HRM not visible as a standalone sensor to other devices. Apologies if I'm wrong.

It's a similar issue with devices like the Apple Watch. Sure, they've got an HRM built-in, but that HRM isn't a separate device that will pair via BT or ANT+.

I can confirm that Magellan's Cyclo Speed/Cadence sensor works.

A month ago the PowerTap PowerCal dual HR/Power strap would only pair with HR. As of the 135 update yesterday, it will now pair only with power. Good news is that both components work, just not at the same time.

Yes. Recent Garmin watches can broadcast HR via Bluetooth. My FR235 does and just checked my wife's Vivoactive. It does as well. I'll try to test with the Karoo.

EDIT : You probably have to be recording an activity for this to work...

I stand corrected. Thanks Doug, that's good to know.

I tried to get the Karoo to see my Garmin FR235 watch and was not successful. I'm actually confused by the "Broadcast HR" setting on the Garmin, as the options are "off" or "auto". I thought I recalled that being on/off previously. If I can get my wife's Vivoactive, I'll try that.

Over on the HH forums, Eva Lehtinen is reporting that Garmin Vector 2 power meter pedals keep dropping out.

Dear people,

I see the Mio (Magellan in the US I think) ant+ HR and cadence are not on the list yet. They too are working flawlessly.

For my part :

Garmin heart rate monitor chest strap (ANT+) : OK
Garmin GSC10 speed+cadence (ANT+) : OK
Garmin Vector 1 pedal powermeter (ANT+) : BAD, lot of dropouts, unusable data
Powertap G3 hub powermeter (ANT+) : FAIR, some dropouts but data are usable.

Still to be tested : Powertap P1 pedal powermeter

Thanks. I can't really add your HRM from Garmin without a bit more detail. Two are already listed and it's not clear (to me) that they're not the same. If you have more detail or a model number, that might help.

I'm not inclined to update the GSC10 fully to "working" due to other reports that it doesn't. I don't know if this is user-error or variations from model to model. For now, I think it stays as is.

I put the V1's in the "mostly" working pile without a color code.

Some clarifications :

The Powertap G3 hub powermeter delivers speed, cadence and power. It works quite well but not perfectly when it comes to power.

As far as I'm concerned, the GSC10 is working fine (both speed and cadence).

My HRM from Garmin is this one and also working fine :

Cateye HR-12 bluetooth heartrate chest strap works perfectly, no drop outs so far 8-)

I'm also using Wahoo speed and cadence sensors with no problem - I've connected them via bluetooth and left the ANT+ turned off, no idea if that makes any difference or not really

I tested the Powertap P1 pedals powermeter (Dual-sided measurement version) this afternoon : FAILED

On the bike :
Garmin Edge 800
Karoo : latest firmware update.

Connection via BTLE, both pedals, Left and Right are paired but ...

... During the ride, the power displayed on the Karoo is always about 50% of the power displayed on the Garmin Edge. It is very likely that only one pedal is taken into account when measuring power.

Strava report of this ride (70 km) :

Average power (Garmin Edge) : 208 W
Average power (HH Karoo) : 103 W

On the other hand, Garmin’s ANT+ Speed and Cadence magnet-less sensors worked flawlessly.

A few from me:

Smart Trainer - Wahoo Kickr Snap

Power/Cadence - Team Zwatt Zimanox (single sided PM)

HR - Scosche Rhythm+
I'm pretty sure the Garmin Vivoactive HR works too but I've just switched to a Fitbit Versa so will need to double-check that!

EDIT: Vivoactive HR definitely works, as long as it's broadcasting! This needs to be enabled in Settings > Sensors > Wrist HR

Speed/Cadence - Crivit (Lidl) bluetooth Speed/Cadence sensor
