I have been trying to update the Komoot app using APK Pure. I'm able to download the pkg, extract it, approve the new access settings and click install. However, APK Pure returns with 'Installation Failed'.
Is there a specified way to update an app?
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Updating Side loaded apps with APK Pure
Don't have an answer but I'm interested in the same question. How do people update side loaded apps?
If I wipe the app and reinstall it I lose all the settings, kinda non ideal
How's Komoot Working for you?

From a comment posted elsewhere:
...
(2) Uses Android 6, which means more and more 3rd party apps are now incompatible and this list is growing day by day as authors update their apps to the latest API levels or use “XAPK” format files.
(3) 3rd party apps can’t display standard Android Notifications. I believe the “standard” karoo would benefit from actionable notifications as currently there are some tricky/dubious Karoo UI decisions and I couldn’t work out for an hour after I’d padded my destination how to stop it trying to navigate back to it (tried all logical things while on the group ride).
(4) To fix (3) without a Karoo software change, you have to install “Google Play Services” , this is not possible as you can no longer unlock the bootloader.

Re: Updating Side loaded apps with APK Pure
I was able to install older version 9.x, but newer versions still support Android 6+ so the problem must be different.
Re: Updating Side loaded apps with APK Pure
... since a short time it's possible to update Komoot to Version 10.
... it seems that there are two different installation versions from Komoot.
... with my Karoo I can upgrade to V 10.10.7 (235900) - APK-file
... with my Android 7 tablet I can go to V 10.11.11 - XAPK-file
I don't know who provides the APK-file - perhaps APKPure uses an converter ?

Re: Updating Side loaded apps with APK Pure
Why does APK Pure fail to install the Komoot app update, even after I have approved the new access settings? I would be very happy if you could let me know, thanks. I know this is an old discussion but the answer to my question is very important I am appealing to the admin. Please approve my post, Thanks
