Post by Steve » Fri Mar 08, 2019 5:53 pm

They've just announced some more funding. I'm still hoping for investment in software.

Their blog says that’s pretty much what it’s for.
For Karoo users, this means a deeper investment in the Karoo’s software development, opening up the in-ride experience to exciting new software-based possibilities. We’re looking forward to having you along for the next stage of our journey.
But more importantly, I think the guys behind the money and their experience is going to drive serious accountability on their software development process that is largely out of control. In the big picture we’re still dealing with largely the same issues as at the product launch a year ago - stability and reliability issues, lack of critical features, bad support for power meters, etc...

I would expect that these money guys will apply the outsized leverage that their money buys and get competent management installed in key software development areas to fix these problems once and for all. That’s a seriously good thing - although I would expect it’s going to be painful for some of the current leadership - on getting this on a path to sustained success and additional funding.
