Karoo Barfly Mount

I have recently purchased a Karoo with original Barfly mount and the 1/4 turn mount is quite easy to engage/disengage - very little effort to rotate. It appears rigid enough for road riding but I would be concerned if I used this on my MTB. There appears to be no wear on the mount or unit. Is this normal? Is there any trick to making the mount more secure such as putting in a very thin spacer shim below the tabs that flex during rotation (I have some ideas on this point). Thanks for any feedback 👍

My road and mountain bikes have Barflys, while my gravel bike has a SRAM mount. My Karoo fits snugly into each. Last weekend I was riding gnarly gravel, dirt, mud, rocks in the bowels of the Catskill Mountains on my gravel bike. Bombed a three mile, rugged descent with the SRAM mount and no issues.

You could try calling HH and have them send you a new "foot" for the back of your device. They will wear down over time.
