Preview of preanouncement of presale promonition

Post by bikebikebike »

Previously mentioned, predictably appeared
Precocious preconditioning, predictably weird
A slot inside my emailbox filled with a missive in that void
Preternaturally promoting attempts to keep the spirit buoyed.
they say the K2 may be coming, and it might just be seen
At least that is what was hinted by what showed up on my screen.
They didn't offer timing, they didn't say how much.
They didn't comment much in English , or for the DCR, in Dutch.
They didn't say where it was coming from, odd for a GPS
I really don't think that they could have said much fking less.
So if you are not curious or on their mailing list
Let's see how this is working out and will it emerge from the mist.

From the somewhat reliable cyclry. Harold Dalton ( https://www.haroldzdalton.com / harold@cyclry.com) is an insider @ Hammerhead, (June 2018 - Present COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, HAMMERHEAD), ostensibly, and the piece is by Charlotte Adler. Some information , mostly speculation.

And I quote:
August 21: Hammerhead announced that pre-orders would open next week. So between August 24-30. Our guess would be Monday or Tuesday – though note that Thursday is often when tech products are released, and Hammerhead sticks to this structure with their software updates.

Once you’ve pre-ordered, you’re probably in for a wait. We previously speculated six weeks, which puts you in the first week of October for getting the Karoo 2 on your handlebars. After the long pre-order delays on the original Karoo, Hammerhead will likely want to keep the time between pre-order and delivery short this time… That, or it’s a sign to expect a lot of delays.

$399-$120 tradein. They pay postage, and ship , with you getting CC credit on return of the K1.
Deal only offered for preorder with $99 "deposit" , and for original owner.
Hmm

Doesn't set me on fire

lot to pay for a beeper and weight reduction
but my 85% 3200mA battery is only accepting 0.17amp
and after half an hour has soaked up only 43mAmhr
May make the call when I know more and if after 30 hours I am charged back up

Can't say they aren't consistent

Upgrade final cost at : $399 ( with various discounts for the original K1)
+ $280 for the K2, which by my Texas high school math is ~$680 for the trade in final cost.
It is in Garmin1030 range so expectations are high.

PS: 90 min later I am up to 86% soaked up 223mA, and at 6 hours 1117mA
I guess that's better. and then it charged up and has been OK nad working fine.
I'm not sue if it is battery, charging, or display of charge.

DCR released his review , soft beep and 60 gm lighter.
Much improved SIM card access and 16 more gig, and ....
