Custom Launcher / Start Ride

Post by nodge » Sat May 12, 2018 6:43 am

Hi guys!

Does anyone know whats the android activity to launch a simple ride with a custom launcher?

On the original launcher it's the play button on the bottom right...

You'll need to add a shortcut to the Ride app to the home screen of your custom launcher.

Moving this topic to the Dev forum.

I tried but the Ride App does not display anything - like it would need some paramters to start... any idea?

Hmm, that's odd. I haven't tried it myself yet though. Anyone else?

I've found the same issue, and haven't investigated to find parameters that might be needed. If I launch the ride app my custom page isn't displayed. If I launch via their launcher it works fine.

Just a guess, but perhaps all it needs as a parameter is the name of your page set?

Likely true. I was checking the logs to see what's called when I launched the ride start, but didn't complete my investigation.

And that's what I use to start a ride. I'm using Nova Launcher (the free version) and I created a shortcut/nova launcher/widget (can't exactly remember what it was) on the homescreen to the original <H> launcher. From there I start a ride as I would on a stock Karoo.

I'm using Lawnchair as the launcher on my Karoo.
Everyting works ok except that the yellow bar below to start a ride is gone.

Appartently it isn't a app so with another launcher it's not possible to add it on the screen.

A workaround is clicking the "route" button, choose a a route, choose ride and then the yellow button will appear.
There you can remove the route and just start recording your ride.

If anyone found a solution for it it would be great.
