Does Karoo use remote server to create FIT files?

The Dashboard is down, again. But I finally got Android File Transfer to work on my Mac, I was going to copy over lastnight's and today's rides to my computer, but the latest FIT files I can find on the Karoo are from the last time I connected to the Dashboard yesterday afternoon, nothing is showing...

Any way to calibrate the ambient temperature sensor?
Mine's always 5-6 F°low.

Poor battery life under 1.5.19.3

I'm suddenly getting horrible battery life under last week's update, 1.5.19.3. Ever since the update the unit will die in 8-10 hours asleep, in airplane mode. Before the update I could go days without recharging. While riding…it's about the same. Anybody else seeing this? Should I do a factory reset...

The Karoo font?

I may make some mockups of my dream dashboard.

Anyone know what font is used on activity pages?
Would it reside in the file-sytem somewhere?

Re: How does grade work?

Read Ann interesting thread on bicycles.stackexchance last night (sorry, don't have the URL with me) One user noted that they old iBike computers used altimeter, accelerometer, GPS, and map data to determine grade. Another posted on how power meters could be used to calculate grade, I imagine in con...

How does grade work?

Anyone know what the mechanics or theory behind Karoo's grade calculation? Does it an onboard sensor, map data, something else? What's it's sensitivity, how often does it take samples. Do we have to calibrate it? My Karoo will read zero for minutes at a time, briefly show a grade, and plop back to z...

Freeze up

We've been enjoying spring here for a couple weeks, since better I received my Karoo. Cold snap came in last night and I rode in 38°f weather for a whole 20 minutes. When I reviewed my ride the Karoo was laggy, wouldn't scroll too well, and I had ghosting on the screen. Then it went off. I couldn't ...

Re: Intermittent Ant+ Cadence Sensor Drop

Update: I've been going through my ride files. I've got a stack of spreadsheets and screencaps, but it's what we've suspected: It seems, to me, that the Karoo hates waking up. Takes it forever to realize it's moving, and when it does it takes it's own sweet time to connect with the sensors. I think ...

Re: Intermittent Ant+ Cadence Sensor Drop

I've been meaning to check out Doug's dairies, I've got a long weekend coming up so I'll finally be able to!

I'll run Bluetooth on my way home this evening, thanks for the advice.

Intermittent Ant+ Cadence Sensor Drop

I’m running Wahoo cadence, and rpm sensors. They’re ANT+ and BLE. I’m using ANT+, and have the Roo’s bluetooth off. The Karoo is dropping the cadence sensor. It was fine for a week, but for the last couple days it's been loosing cadence. The cadence data field stays blank, and FIT files lack cadence...

Mixed units in elevation summary?

I'm not sure if this belongs here, or in the Help board. And forgive me if it's been discussed, I took a break from the Karoo scene, and have fallen behind. I'm running imperial units on my Karoo. I run both auto-elev, and I'll set it manually, it always seems off, but I just noticed that if I conve...

Re: Todays short ride

I took a young friend on their longest ride ever, afterwards we treat ourselves to a congratulatory beer. I pop off the Karoo and stash it in my jersey pocket. When reviewing the ride I realize I didn't pause it (or maybe it auto-resumed) it recorded my path in and around the bar, down to the table,...

Re: Is your old GPS correct?

Other than when just starting out, or resuming a ride, my Karoo's GPS has been spot on, better than I expected. I'm only a week into using the Karoo, and only been on two rides of any significance (30mi, and 20) everything else has been commuting, and running errands 'round town. But we're pretty op...

Whew, so so wrong

Whew How could they have gotten it so wrong? I'm at work so I can't go into any great detail, but I'll say as much as I can. And forgive the typos, I'm on my mobile in the cold… I unboxed and setup the Karoo up last night. I can't believe how wrong it is. It's they've never used a cycling computer o...

Yeah, sure, I understand why they wouldn't want us poking around, they should include a USB drive we can copy or files from.

Use Karoo's GPS to augment location data of other devices?

If Karoo's GPS is all that they claim, then it's better than my phone's. Can the Karoo be used as an external GPS receiver to augment/replace other device's GPS'?

Re: Strongly Considering Returning

Do you mean the fit file? Because yes, you can copy that directly from the Karoo, though there's a little bit of setup involved and HH don't really want people to go down that route. Oh, really? Yeah, I can translate a FIT file, it would take an extra step that I'd probably do anyway. Looks like I ...
