K2 Initial Impressions
Got my K2 yesterday and rode a whopping 1 time (and only the 3rd time since the start of the new year). I'll probably have a video up on my dusty YT channel later today. If anyone's interested in just the text highlights... The Good: - Weight and size are down. - Beeper is useful, even if I didn't t...

Re: Karoo 2 on its way
Is there something wrong with Ebay? I'm about to post mine there, I think. The K2 arrived and appears to be fine/working. More than readable for me. If it doesn't sell on Ebay, I'll likely return it to HH for the $120.

Re: Dissapointed about last release
Looks like you're not going to get those at all without a subscription, so it doesn't appear to be HH's fault, the timing of their release was just such that they couldn't *tell* you why it was sub-only:

Re: Karoo /strava
Some units average in zeros and others don't. That's the big disparity most people see or notice. "Normalized" power is a better approximation of effort and should factor zeros and pauses in the same way. If you ride a trainer, you'll notice the numbers are very close, because (depending on the trai...

Re: Request: "Upcoming Elevation Graph" for "off-route" course
Unlikely to happen. The Karoo would have to have no only map data, but also elevation data to pull this off. So full topographic maps. That and the processing power potentially needed to keep calculating that on the fly is probably a non-starter. A reminder that this is a user forum. If you have spe...

Re: Dissapointed about last release
If you think the map changed, you may be right and you may be further disappointed in the font change they just made in the ATG. While I'm on the fence about it, many have reported that it's less readable for them.

Re: Color of detour course
Tend to agree, but I have that complaint with almost *all* of the color choices they make, or in many cases don't make. Why is the course on the map in red, but the cues are in yellow? Why is the "off-course" map line blue, but the cues red? Extremely disjointed UI design. It's been made even a bit ...

Re: Circular HR Zones missing
Lots of options went missing. The ability to mix graphical with text fields on the same page and in any field is also gone. I'm just realizing that I'm probably going to be disappointed with my "new" Karoo (replacement due to battery) as I'm guessing (remembering?) that the profiles aren't cloud-syn...

Re: Live Segments
If you'd like my take on this, you can watch this. It's timestamped to the "start" of my Live Segments clip. Watch from there or all at your own discretion: https://youtu.be/N0fZIv3RPl4?t=899 TL:DR(W): It's good, but not at all customizable yet. It "overlays" the bottom 1/3rd of the screen you're on...

Re: Karoo 2 is coming
Looks like, in addition to Lance Armstrong, Ray also has one.... EDIT: Nevermind. I missed the last paragraph during my first pass on that. You are correct and he does apparently have one in hand (although that's not his picture). He is also apparently on embargo. Interesting that he writes an arti...

No shock now here, since he's apparently an investor. Not exactly an un-biased opinion (whatever was said). I don't follow him nor believe a single word that comes out of his mouth...

Re: Karoo 2 is coming
Ray didn't really like the first one, and said as much. They cherry-picked quotes from his review and took only the good stuff. Pretty sure he did *not* recommend buying it at the time. But I don't read his blog religiously and have somehow even dropped off seeing most of his YouTube videos. Hopeful...

Re: Sold Out?
Not sure the giant graphic was warranted or even applies? Read through this forum. Watch (painfully) my YouTube reviews and updates on the Karoo. I'm not an apologist of fanboy. My point was that you're comparing a money grab where no product was delivered to a product that's happily in many people'...

Re: Any new ATG updates recently.
I'm not sure "hill steepness" without a route is EVER coming. Does any other device have that? A device would have to have full topographic data for an area to pull that off. That's way more than just X and Y.

I'm guessing that just means the 1.1 mount is already in the box and not an extra you have to ask for or order, but I could be wrong.

The Christmas discount should really make you think. Re: Sold Out?
I believe the Hammerhead Karoo was a “money grab”. Those who were LUCKY to receive a unit from their inventory...were the test pilots and advertisers of the product. If there was a restock or NEW unit coming...I’m almost positive they would make new customers aware on their website. Be happy you ha...
