Re: Chris Froome Discussing Karoo 2

Most of the pros that I follow on Strava are using them. Andre Greipel (though some of his really long rides are suspiciously uploaded from a Garmin Fenix 6 instead of the Hammerhead), and a few others who were on teams like EF. I actually thought that Hammerhead must have gotten multiple teams, the...

Re: Can Garmin Survive ?

There is a need for a stable PAN for bikes. HH is competitive in the race, Garmin the 800 pound gorilla. Garmin is plagued by the need for legacy support and drags a huge liability in that. HH is newer and fresher. Or has been.... I think that there is concern over the pattern in startups where you...

I've started developing a CIQ app for my company and the platform is...terrible. I mean just really bad. It's poorly documented, the documentation doesn'...

Re: which features in New Software Release (Aug/Sept 2019)

That roadmap is so obsolete it is hardly recognizable. They promised an update two months ago but haven’t made good on that promise. Along with most of the other undelivered-upon promises. Everyone's "list" of "must haves" is also different. Most on your list, other than opening...

Re: Hmm.... Garmin 530

Yeah, I'd been thinking about the 830, knowing it was coming, and assuming the 520 Plus was too new to be superseded. Now I'm getting the 530 for sure.

BT or ANT+? They still seem to be having issues with ANT+. BT is allegedly much better, but I use ANT+.

Re: ATG Release 1.33.582.3

I'm no help at all here. Both "old" routes and one that I created and rode yesterday work fine with TbT on my Karoo. Turns and elevation profile seemed spot on, and that's saying something. One oddity with highway overpasses, but just on the elevation profile and not affecting routing. Re...

Re: hammerhead - Karoo-survey

They're just trying to figure out how the device should be priced (like should they actually raise the price like they said they would) or if they can charge more for a hardware revision. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Re: Can't add ANT+ sensors

That's a big fat nope from me - did the reset from recovery and it still can't find any sensors. Reported that back to HH. Thanks anyway, Doug. I've also had pretty major ANT+ issues in this release. Though I asked, and they assure me that they can't reproduce my issues, and that the ANT+ stack was...

Re: ATG Release 1.33.582.3

I have had major issues with my power meter on this release, and my posts about it aren't showing up in the ATG discussion. I started a thread, and I thought I was crazy, because it wasn't in the list. So I added a comment to the main discussion thread about the release, and it's sitting in a status...

Re: Recording without dropouts

I'm pretty sure it was said somewhere that the next Karoo will just be a smaller/lighter unit with a beeper Typical Hammerhead - what's really needed isn't new hardware, it's a rewrite of the software to fix fundamental design flaws (e.g. offline areas, Dashboard) and allow the developers to actual...

ATG Release 1.33.582.3

Not looking to step on toes, I know that this is normally handled by @dthempel, but I think this is the longest that I've had the update email without seeing him post, and there is some stuff I'm kind of excited about in this one. What's new in release 1.33.582.3 New features and improvements: Senso...

Re: ATG Release 1.31.574.3

Just as an FYI for anyone outside of the ATG, the stable channel still hasn't received an update because of continued ride app crashes, though the Hammerhead team has at least identified a root cause being down to an issue with the Mapbox integration. They're also working on some regular GPS dropout...

Re: ATG Release <no value>

I ran the update and can confirm the auto shutdown. I walked away, forgot about it, and when I came back, it was shut down. So maybe it won't die 5 minutes in to my next ride like last time. That was the first time I forgot to shut it down - and now I've done it twice in a couple days - my training ...

Re: Recording without dropouts

Yeah, well then you have to accept the baked in mediocrity of Garmin. Been there done that. Odd that if you’re done with Karoo that you keep hanging out here. Come on, I have a love-hate relationship with Garmin, and have tried hard to get out of their ecosystem for my bike computer, but the undeni...

Recording without dropouts

Well, I now have a way to record without dropouts, and get my structured workouts automatically from Trainingpeaks! All I had to do was strap a watch to my handlebars. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/hJ_9oQJfhSRkWzGvgGSHLrMPcWRNhRkObR1mSYJIH6smkk9mZ3a9-jwJUSO8YlrFHocrHeCD54AES5F_Zn0ZfBkOO1Vb53c_-7...
