Re: Battery Hotfix to ATG

Looking at the changelog and assuming it's accurate, it seems it's not really a "fix" anyway, just backing out a couple of changes that they'd made, including the big Mapbox upgrade. So HH are going to have a headache trying to figure out a proper fix, i.e. upgrade Mapbox without killing the battery.

Re: Bad news about battery drain...

Is this what they meant at road.cc when they said "the pace of development is quick"?

Perhaps they were talking about the speed of breaking things?

Re: Battery problems

I've noticed that, annoyingly, if you long press on the Sensors icon in the swipe-down notification shade, it turns BT on. This is what turned my BT on the other day (I had erroneously assumed it was the last update itself). Franklin was trying to defend this to me as the new expected behaviour. I t...

Re: Auto elevation calibration

Whenever I've tried auto calibration it is hopelessly off. My impression (which could be completely wrong) is that auto calibration just uses the barometric pressure sensor to decide what it thinks the elevation is, then uses that. I'm pretty sure it doesn't do anything fancy with mapping data (i.e....

Re: TrainerRoad

Indeed, you definitely don't need the whole Android Studio for developers. All you need are the Android Platform Tools at https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools As you say, it can be an issue to get the right device driver to make your Karoo show up. Normally trying one or two ...

Re: Battery problems

HH have got back to me already. On a Sunday? I'm impressed. Seems like there are two issues - one is an erroneous 1% battery remaining reading (my Karoo is still reading 1% of battery left over an hour after it last said so). The second is Bluetooth draining the battery after the last update - somet...

Battery problems

Anyone else having battery problems since the 1.11.392.3 update? Several have reported prematurely dying batteries on the HH forums. I just did one of my usual length club rides, and instead of the 50% battery that I normally have left, my Karoo is reporting 1% left. But I don't believe it's really ...

road.cc Karoo review

Interesting review here - https://road.cc/content/review/252049-hammerhead-karoo Particularly interesting is the mention of a slightly updated Karoo, smaller, with audio. Maybe it's just me, but the review reads to me as if road.cc think Karoo has only just been released. They talk about upcoming fe...

Re: Update November 8th: Build 1.8.364.3

I raised a support ticket with HH for my problems (my device re-downloading routes and offline areas on its own). Ali came back to me and said that apparently after an updates the routes do go back into "Queued" state momentarily but then switch back to available offline. My problem seems to have be...

Re: Update November 8th: Build 1.8.364.3

I had the problem again today at a very inconvenient time. I was just starting my ride outside the back of the house, but I found that there was only one route showing up instead of the lots that are usually on there. I checked and it was doing the same as it did immediately after the previous updat...

Re: Update November 8th: Build 1.8.364.3

For the second update in a row, after it's updated and rebooted, my Karoo is almost non-functional. It's incredibly slow to respond to any screen presses. I can see it's very busy on the wifi (judging from the icon and its arrows), so I'm not sure if it's re-downloading everything (routes and offlin...

Re: Dashboard update - 1.0.013

I don't think there's anywhere that shows the version number. HH don't seem to think it's necessary because it's online so it's (in theory at least) always the latest version you see.

Having said that, I seem to remember once when they posted about a Dashboard update that hadn't happened yet.

Re: Update November 8th: Build 1.8.364.3

Interesting that they say: You might notice a change in the release version number, from 1.5.x.3 to 1.8.x.3. This simply represents internal updates to our release management processes, rather than a significant customer-facing change. Why didn't they just say "Oops we forgot to increment the versio...
